Scrapbooking for me.

I am having so much fun over at  Creative Scrapbooking Diva s  and  ScrapNMom  @ Cafemom.  Their challenges, layouts ideas are great for me, just what the scrapbooking doctor ordered.   My hubby is happy that I'm scrap booking for myself again instead of for others.  Here are some of the LO and cards I've done this past week.

Things I've learned from my kids

(PIOG)  I thought this was cute. Mine are in red :) 1. Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.  2. A 3-year-old is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.  3. If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite. 4. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42-pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a superman cape. It is strong enough, however, to spread paint on all four walls of a large room. 5. When using the ceiling fan as a baseball bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.  6. The glass in windows (even double pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan. 7. When you hear the toilet flush and the words "Uh-oh," it's already too late.   8. Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it. 9. A six-year-old can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year-old man says they

Scripture Challenge 2010- Home

For our next challenge, we were given the word HOME. There were two scriptures that just ministered to me so I journaled both. The first is 2 Corthinans 5:1... Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. (NIV) Second scripture is 2 Peter 3:13... But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the  home  of righteousness. You can find the Scripture Challenge 2010 @ Triple the Scraps Tools used: - stamped and embossed the word home in copper -stamped and embossed the flourish to make a frame in copper -doubled matted the word home and used a pop dot to raise it -house and tag came from Sweetheart cartridge -the fence was made by scrap pieces of a wood border that I had

Valentine's Party

Getting ready for the kiddo's party at school. I made these little sucker butterflies for my oldest's class.  I created a scut file, but I didn't make the slots of the suckers big enough.  I used a mini hole punch so I could slide the sucker in better, sry.  But you can still download it  :)  Here is everything you need, it's very simple. Download HERE I also had to make some boxes for all the cards and goodies. I had a great idea to use a tissue box! A red one to boot!  Here is everything I used for this project.  The valentine paper, chipboard, cut outs came from the dollar bin at Target!!!  The paper is very thin, but it works great for projects like this one. Here's how we decorated one of the boxes. Unfortunately, I only had one red tissue box, but I needed to make another one. I used 12x12 heavy card stock for the base and 6x12 for the lid. And viola box #2... HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

{Scripture Challenge 2} Challenge Word #3, Abide

Abide: For this challenge word, I was led to Psalms 119:161, God, I do what you tell me. My soul guards and keeps your instructions... I follow your directions, Abide by your counsel. My life is an open book before you. (The Message) This is a simple layout and thought of adding something more but then I got to thinking. Why do I try to make everything so complicated? I do the same in life, but I think everyone does at one time or another. Materials used: some pattern paper, don't know the brand Sweethearts Cricut cart A Child's Year Cricut cart cute little flower brad chalked the little girl reading

Scripture Challenge- Temptation

For Triple the Scrap's Scripture challenge 2010, our word is Temptation. The first scripture I thought of is 1 Corinthians 10:13. Sometimes I can get overwhelm and feel I like I am the only one out there with 1 million thing on my plate. But I know God will not give me more than I could handle. The scripture is: No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have faced. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down. He'll never let you be pushed past your limit. He'll always be there to help you come through it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. - The Message The apple of course represents the first temptation, the tree represents both trees in the Garden of Eden... two decisions. The dove represents the Holy Spirit, our counselor, our helper. Materials used: -burgundy vellum -red and green card stock -the tree is actually a fabric sample from a wallpaper book. I got the book for a dollar at a wallpaper store. -dove was cut
